If you want to have some jaw dropping and awesome sensor experiences, you must not forget to pay a visit to the American Museum of Natural History. There is also Rose Center for Earth and Space with a huge auditorium inside this museum.

You can satisfy your thirst for art work from great painters like Picasso and Rodin. There is also a top notch gift shop and a high end restaurant cum bar inside this museum to refresh yourself.

Tenement Museum

This is a famous museum inside New York that is made out of a 5 storey building made in 1863 and in which 7000 immigrants lived at one point of time. It is located at 97 Orchard Street. You can see how early tenants of this building coked food on coal based stoves and fireplaces. You will find interpreters looking like residents of the building as they wear costumes from old times. You have to pay $22 as admission fee into this museum.

Guggenheim

The Guggenheim Museum is as famous for its landmark building, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and restored for its 50th birthday in 2009, as it is for its impressive collection and daring temporary art shows. The museum owns Peggy Guggenheim’s trove of cubist, surrealist and abstract expressionist works, along with the Panza di Biumo Collection of American minimalist, Thannhauser Collection, and conceptual art from the 1960s and ’70s. In addition to works by Manet, Picasso, Chagall and Bourgeois, the Guggenheim Museum holds the largest collection of Kandinskys in the U.S. In 1992, the addition of a ten-story tower provided space for a sculpture gallery (with Central Park views), an auditorium, and restaurant the Wright.

In 1939 The Museum of Non-Objective Painting opened its rented quarters at 24 East 54th Street, showcasing the collection of American and European abstract and nonobjective artworks that Solomon R. Guggenheim had begun assembling a decade before. In the seventy years since, the collection of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; renamed in its founder’s honor in 1952 and housed since 1959 in Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic building on Fifth Avenue—has grown exponentially, expanding in both historical and stylistic range and depth.  My favorite!

zoo animals

Have a Wonderful Day at Bronx Zoo with or without Kids
Bronx Zoo, housed inside Bronx Park in Bronx, NY, is the largest zoo in the whole of United States. Spread over a mammoth area of 265 acres, this zoo is a big attraction for families, especially kids. People have loads of fun in the company of exotic animals and birds housed inside this zoo. This zoo receives more than 2 million visitors annually. You can get to Bronx Zoo within an hour from Stamford whether you take a car ride or a train ride.

Various entry gates to see desired parts of the Zoo

It can be an overwhelming experience for you if it is your first visit to this zoo. It is so big that it is not possible to explore the entire zoo in a day. Knowing the map and the route makes it easy to see the desired areas inside the zoo and save a lot of time. Enter from the Asia Gate if you want to enjoy the camel ride. It allows you t use the monorail that is the best way to see the red pandas, the elephants, and of course the famous Jungle World. If you are interested in Tiger Mountain and the World of Birds, it is better to take entry through Bronx River Gate. One very popular entry point is Southern Boulevard Gate which is close to World of Reptiles, Bug Carousal, and the Children’s Zoo.

Do not miss these exhibits

Entire Bronx Zoo is super fun for the visitors, especially small kids. However, there are certain exhibits that are a must see for every visitor. If you do not have much time at hand, make sure you see Tiger Mountain and The Congo Gorilla Forest. Not only do you see these majestic animals but also see the wonderful exhibits housing them. For young kids, a visit to the Children’s Zoo is a must to have a wonderful and mesmerizing experience.  NEVER miss the sea lion exhibit!

Take your snacks and drinks along with you

There are several cafes and food stalls inside the zoo. However, it is prudent to pack lots of snacks and beverages to keep your little kids fueled and full of energy while they are exploring the park and the animals. You can also save a lot of money by packing your food as they charge very high prices for food and beverage.

Besides entry ticket, there are different packages available for the visitors depending upon the areas they intend to visit. Buying separate tickets inside the zoo can be costlier than the Total Experience Ticket. https://bronxzoo.com/

#StamfordCT is a city in Fairfield County Connecticut that is known for its #coastline, scenic #beauty and great #architecture. It is also home to dozens of high quality restaurants serving different cuisines to their customers. From pizzas and burgers, to steak and seafood, continental and Chinese, great sushi and so much more!  The truth is, you will get whatever you want in one of the many excellent Stamford restaurants. My top 5 restaurants of the week.

Colony Grill- A Stamford Classic Goes Franchise

Famous for its thin crust pizzas, this restaurant is an old one established way back in 1935 in its Irish neighborhood. They used to serve many food items earlier but now thin crust pizza is the only offering for the customers. You can have a wide variety of pizzas here from salad pizzas to breakfast pizzas. Run by a father son duo, this restaurant is the pride of Stanford.

Olio

If you are looking for new American cuisine on a budget, Olio is where you should head to.  You will love the ambiance and the quality of service. They serve their raw materials from local vendors and serve a unique mix of new and old American dishes. Customers love the freshness and the flavor of their recipes. In addition to lunch and dinner, Olio also has a brunch menu for those who get up late in the mornings. A winner fro Sprigdale!

Pellicci’s

This restaurant is a Stamford icon!  In 1947, the Pellicci family opened their restaurant in the “Heart of Stamford,” its West Side. By 1955, a loyal and expanding clientele made it necessary to enlarge their facilities and their menu, which featured a secret family recipe for baked chicken.  To this day Pellicci’s carries on their tradition of serving fresh and delicious, authentic Italian cuisine.  The service is excellent, the decor will transport you, and they will valet park your car with a smile.

Brasitas

Brasitas is the restaurant that is a perfect choice for those desirous of Spanish and Latin American dishes. Their margaritas, arepas con pollo, and sangria have become the talk of the town in a short span of time. The food is very flavorful here and it is also presented beautifully.  Under appreciated gem of a restaurant.

Casa Villa Restaurant

This restaurant is found on two locations in Stamford. If you are desirous of Mexican dishes, head straight to Casa Villa. In addition to serving delicious food for lunch and dinner, Casa Villa also provides take away service. Residents of Stamford love the nachos, tacos, and burritos served at Casa Villa.  Relaxed environment, authentic food and a killer guacamole!

multi - family building

STAMFORD — The site of the city’s largest vacant office complex has been sold to an affiliate of the California investment firm that bought its mortgage earlier this year, a move city officials hope will help to revive the struggling property.

UBS’ local offices are located in the Royal Bank of Scotland-owned building, right, at 600 Washington Blvd., in downtown Stamford, Conn. In 2016, it moved out of the office complex, at left, at 677 Washington Blvd.
