Claire Nathan, a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), holds a B.A. in economics from Fordham University and a Master’s degree in social work from Columbia University. Prior to dedicating herself to real estate, Claire pursued a professional banking career in Los Angeles and ran for the California state legislature. Eventually she moved to New York, assisting (Hon.) Cyrus R. Vance, Sr., who later became U.S. Secretary of State. She served as his Executive Assistant for the UNA-USA Policy Studies Committee--a group that assisted in the implementation of U.S. foreign policy recommendations at the United Nations. She relished the opportunity to work alongside the sitting President, Cabinet, members of Congress, former U.S. Ambassadors and CEOs of America’s top 100 corporations. She is also a published author.
Since 1988, Claire has earned a reputation for the personal attention she devotes to all clients. She has received numerous accolades for real estate sales volume, and she is known for her integrity and strong negotiating skills. Though she deeply values her professional accolades, her most treasured awards come from her clients. Her most meaningful is a Crayola drawing that a six year old gave her at the parents’ recent closing. It shows a house with a chimney, the little girl in a purple dress with a purple bow, and Claire in a pant suit. At the top it reads: “Thank you Claire for giving us our new home. Love, Phynix.”
A Stamford resident for more than 25 years, Claire has unparalleled knowledge and respect for Fairfield County culture, which serves her clients well--especially families relocating to this area. She was president of the Columbia University Club of Fairfield County, CT for 10 years and during that time she implemented several worthy and recognized local community projects including regular participation with Operation Hope, a food bank that serves 105,000 Fairfield families. In addition she created a round table that resulted in Columbia alumni securing dozens of new professional positions plus creation of joint entrepreneurial collaborations. Claire also expanded the Columbia University Annual Book Awards Program that recognizes scholastic achievements of students from high schools throughout Fairfield County. She is also involved with The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp.
She loves to travel and is always looking for the time and opportunity to continually revisit Italy where she feels right at home.
